Hilton is set to open its second property under its lifestyle micro-hotel brand Motto by Hilton in New York on 25 September, located in Manhattan’s lively Times Square.
The 400-room Motto by Hilton New York City Times Square tower is located on 48th Street, steps from 41 Broadway theatres and close to tourist attractions including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Radio City Music Hall and Rockefeller Center.
Design elements will include modern lines, a warm colour palette and headboards mimicking the city skyline with curves and corners nodding to the surrounding architecture. The hotel will also feature artworks from contemporary artists, which feature “softer refined details” in contrast to the technicolour displays outside.
The property’s rooms will be compact and provide “unobstructed views” of the city, along with “top-notch mattresses and sound-absorbing surroundings”, built-in storage, conveniently located power outlets, and the ability to control the temperature and lighting via mobile devices. Bathrooms, meanwhile, will offer premium bath amenities, tiled showers, illuminated vanity and full-size mirrors.
Guests will also be able to book up to six adjoining rooms together, allowing them to coordinate travel for larger groups, via the Confirmed Connecting Rooms by Hilton feature on the website or Hilton Honors app.
The hotel’s signature restaurant The Alderman will offer “an elegant take on the classic New York City diner”, offering American food and craft cocktails, and facilities will also include an arched lobby bar and a fitness centre.
On the sustainability side, the hotel is taking part in carbon offset projects in locations including Thailand, Rwanda and Taiwan.
