Virgin introduces flat £10 fee for transferring Virgin Points – Business Traveller

Virgin has introduced a new flat rate for Virgin Red and Flying Club members looking to transfer points to family and friends.

Members will now pay a flat rate of £10 per transfer, with no limit to the amounts of points which can be moved to another member.

The new system replaces the previous rates of £15 per transfer plus £7.50 for every 1,000 points transferred.

The change follows a similar move by British Airways earlier this year, which introduced a £15 flat rate fee for Executive Club members transferring Avios between accounts.

This week Virgin Atlantic also launched a new promotion for its Reward+ Mastercard credit card, with new cardholders able to earn up to 30,000 bonus points when applying in the coming weeks.

Cardholders usually receive a welcome bonus of 15,000 Virgin Points when applying for the card (which has an annual fee of £160) and making their first purchase.

But those applying by 2 October will also receive an additional bonus of 15,000 points when they spend £3,000 or more with the first 90 days.
