Vietjet launches two new Asia routes – Business Traveller

Continuing its global and regional expansion, Vietnamese carrier Vietjet Air has inaugurated two ner services – Hanoi-Jakarta and Phu Quoc – Busan (South Korea).

Vietjet’s new route between Hanoi and Jakarta will operate four return flights a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with a flight time of just over four hours each way.

The carrier’s Phu Quoc – Busan route also launched on 11 December, connecting the Vietnamese resort island with Busan daily via a 5 hours and 30 minutes flight.

Earlier this year, SkyTeam member Korean Air said that it would launch a new Airbus A330-300 route between Phu Quoc and its hub at Seoul Incheon airport.

The Hanoi-Jakarta flights depart the Vietnamese capital at 0840, arriving in Jakarta at 1300. They depart back at 1400 and return to Hanoi at 1815.

The redeye Phu Quoc-Busan flights take off at 2340, arriving in South Korea at 0630 the following morning. They return at 0735 for an 1105 arrival back into Phu Quoc.

Both routes will be operated by Vietjet Airbus A321 aircraft.

The airline currently has more than 80 aircraft in service, with more than 350 new aircraft on order, including 200 Boeing 737 Max variants.
