As part of its ongoing commitment to give back to the community, Marriott International Hotels in the UAE came together during Ramadan to help provide over 12,000 meals across the community. India’s outward FDI falls 12.14% to $1.88 bn in October: RBI data

Reflecting slack in global economic growth, India’s outward foreign direct investment (FDI) commitments fell by 12.14 per cent sequentially to $1.88 billion in October, compared to over $2.14 billion in September. They also saw over $2.66 billion in October 2022, according to Reserve Bank of India (RBI) data. Outbound FDI, expressed as a financial commitment, comprises three components: equity, loans, and guarantees. A slowdown in economic and business activities, especially in developed markets, has impacted direct investment flows, both inbound and outbound. Flydubai has announced the launch of flights to Mombasa from January 17, 2024. The Dubai-based carrier will become the first national carrier to operate direct flights from Dubai as well as the UAE to the coastal city in Kenya. RBI, Central Bank of UAE sign two MoUs for trade in local currencies

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and the Central Bank of UAE (CBUAE) signed two Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) in Abu Dhabi on Saturday to establish a framework to promote settle bilateral trade in respective local currencies, that Indian Rupee and UAE Dirham (AED) and interlinking payments and messaging system. The first MoU, which on establishing a framework for the use of local currencies for transactions between India and UAE, aims to put in place a Local Currency Settlement System (LCSS) to promote the use of INR and AED bilaterally. “This will boost the trade between the two countries, it will be cost effective and the settlement will be much faster,” RBI governor said in an interview to state-run television channel Doordarshan.
