Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to Tripoli – Business Traveller

Turkish Airlines has resumed its flight service to Tripoli, the capital of Libya, operating three times a week. The flights will depart from Istanbul airport to Mitiga International airport at 0800, and Mitiga International airport to Istanbul airport at 1200 on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. There will also be a flight from Istanbul airport to Mitiga International airport at 1400, and from Mitiga International airport to Istanbul airport at 1800 on Thursdays. For travel until 13 May 2024, flight prices will begin from US$379 from Istanbul to Tripoli, and from US$299 from Tripoli to Istanbul. Turkish Airlines resumes flights to Osaka – Business Traveller

Turkish Airlines has reinstated flights to Osaka International airport from Istanbul airport. Starting 12 December, the airline began operating four weekly flights on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The route is serviced by the carrier’s widebody Boeing 787-9 aircraft. TK86 departs Istanbul from 2.35am and lands in Osaka at 8.05pm. TK87 meanwhile leaves Istanbul at 10.25pm and arrives back in Istanbul at 5.55am. Turkish Airlines to expand Birmingham-Istanbul route – Business Traveller

Turkish Airlines has announced plans to operate 18 weekly flights between Birmingham and Istanbul next summer. This winter the carrier is maintaining a twice-daily service between the two cities – rather than dropping down to ten flights per week as it has done previously – and the airline said that “forecasts of even greater demand next year” have led it to add a further four weekly flights from June 2024. Riyadh Air signs cooperation agreement with Turkish Airlines – Business Traveller

Saudi national carrier Riyadh Air has signed a strategic cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Turkish Airlines. Accordingly, Riyadh Air said that guests of both airlines will be able “to take full advantage of each carrier’s worldwide network through a comprehensive interline and codeshare agreement that will allow customers to seamlessly connect between and combine sectors operated by either Riyadh Air or Turkish Airlines.” Although no firm date has been announced as to when this agreement, subject to regulatory approvals, will take effect, the Saudi carrier said that it hopes to activate it “as soon as possible” after it launches its operations in mid-2025. Turkish Airlines’ AnadoluJet to become AJet – Business Traveller

AnadoluJet is to rebrand as AJet, as part of plans for the low-cost carrier to become a separate subsidiary of Turkish Airlines in 2024. Earlier this Turkish Airlines unveiled growth plans for AnadoluJet, including increasing its fleet from around 70 aircraft to 200 by 2033. The carrier also announced its intention to establish AnadoluJet as a separate subsidiary, and those plans have now been officially unveiled, alongside a new branding and livery. Turkish Airlines has outlined expansion plans as part of its recent Roadshow presentation. The flag carrier currently flies to 291 destinations in 128 countries – the most of any carrier worldwide – and has named around 30 routes among its future plans. Star Alliance founding member Thai Airways (THAI) will launch daily flights between its Bangkok base and Istanbul from December.
