Stock market LIVE updates: After starting with modest gains on Thursday, amid mixed global cues, the S&P BSE Sensex fell 195 points at 66,706 levels and the Nifty50 dipped 45 points at 20,052 levels. In the broader markets, the BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices, however, stood in green. Sensex up 100pts; IDBI dips 4%, Pharma stocks outperform

Stock Market Live: Benchmark equity indices held small gains in Wednesday's trade, tracking subdued global markets after US FOMC minutes revealed that members favour a 'restrictive' policy for longer.  The BSE Sensex erased the opening losses and was up nearly 100 points at 66,050. The NSE Nifty50 held the 19,800-mark. Among the Sensex 30 shares, Tata Motors, Sun Pharma, Power Grid and NTPC held notable gains, while TCS, Kotak Bank and ICICI Bank were on slippery ground. Stock Market Live: Equity benchmark indices opened lower on Friday as global markets came off the euphoric sentiment of the last few sessions. The BSE Sensex fell 150 points to 65,825 and the NSE Nifty50 slipped 48 points to 19,717. Nifty losses were led by SBI, Bajaj twins, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank, which declined up to 3 per cent, as RBI raised risk weight for consumer loans including credit cards. The RBI mandate sent SBI Card spiralling 6 per cent lower. Asian stocks, US futures dip; Crude oil holds $80

Stock Market Live: After closing at four-week highs in the previous session, benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty could start in green on Thursday with tepid gains. At 7:30 am, the Gift Nifty futures were trading 27 points higher at 19,759. Producer prices in the US fell by 0.5 per cent in October marking the biggest monthly drop since April 2020. Retail sales dipped 0.1 per cent to mark the first such decline in 7 months, making the case for the Fed to wrap its rate hiking cycle.  The Dow Jones rose 0.47 per cent, the S&P 500 gained 0.16 per cent and the Nasdaq Composite added 0.07 per cent. However in Asia, most indices held slight losses. Sensex surges 600 pts; Realty index jumps 3%, IT pack 2%

Stock Market Live: Propped up by slowing inflation in India and the US, domestic equity benchmark indices held sharp gains on Wednesday, taking cues from a global market rally. The BSE Sensex jumped 510 points to 65,413 and the NSE Nifty50 surged 150 points to 19,610.   All Sensex stocks were in green led by Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Tech M, Tata Steel, TCS and Tata Motors.Hindalco, meanwhile, led Nifty winners by rising 4 per cent after its consolidated revenue rose 2 per cent QoQ to Rs 54,100 crore.   The BSE MidCap and SmallCap indices rose by 0.66 per cent and nearly 1 per cent, respectively. All sectoral indices were also higher led by a 2 per cent gain in Nifty Realty. Opening Bell: Equity benchmark indices opened with cuts on Monday as investor focus shifted to the October CPI inflation data, slated for release after market hours today. The BSE Sensex fell 270 points to 64,988, and the NSE Nifty50 slipped 68 points to 19,450. All Sensex stocks opened lower led by losses in Infosys, Kotak Bank, Nestle, Bajaj Finance, Titan and Tata Motors. On the other hand, Eicher Motors, Coal India, BPCL, Divi's Lab and Hindalco defied weakness and held gains on the Nifty50.   Eicher, with 2.5 per cent gain, was the top Nifty performer after it posted a 55 per cent jump in its Q2 profit to Rs 1,016 crore, beating estimates on Friday.  The broader markets also edged lower. Stock market LIVE updates: Domestic equities were on the backfoot on Friday as hawkish statement by the US Fed chair, Jerome Powell, overnight hit sentiment.The S&P BSE Sensex, which fell almost 250 points to the day's low at 64,581, recouped all its losses and touched a high of 64,870 in noon trades. The Sensex was flat around 64,800 level.
