The owner of the female-driven online dating app of the same name saw its share price slide about 5% on Monday morning after the company said that founder Whitney Wolfe Herd is stepping down from the chief-executive officer role. She will remain as executive chair, while Lidiane Jones will take over as CEO on Jan 2. Match Group and Alphabet-unit Google reached a binding term sheet for a settlement regarding their claims against each other in their legal battle.The online dating company said in a letter to shareholders that $40 million placed in escrow will be returned to Match and no other amount will be owed by the Match plaintiffs to Google. As the son of one of the founders of Weight Watchers (WW), I am appalled and insulted by the comments current CEO Sima Sistani made in “The New WeightWatchers: Oprah, Ozempic and Apologies” (Exchange, Oct. 7). She is clearly out of touch with the company’s legacy. Full disclosure, my father was the “brains” behind WW, encouraging Jean Nidetch to be the face of the company. He orchestrated the sale of WW to the H.J. Heinz Co. in 1978. He was a board member for two decades until his passing in 1998. My mother wrote most of the WW cookbooks.
