Munich airport trials smart baggage trolleys – Business Traveller

Munich airport has launched a trial of new baggage trolley technology at its Terminal 2. The smart baggage trolleys feature a tablet through which passengers can scan their boarding pass to receive flight information and updates in real time. In addition to details of their boarding gate, passengers can also select facilities including shops and restaurants, with the tablet then guiding them through the airport and highlighting offers based on their location. The six-month trial is being conducted in partnership with Danish developer Intelligent Track Systems (ITS), with the trolleys available for hire free of charge after security in Terminal 2.
