British Airways to restart Abu Dhabi service after four-year hiatus – Business Traveller

British Airways has announced plans to return to Abu Dhabi for the first time since early 2020. Daily year-round flights will restart on 20 April, 2024 operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft, complementing the carrier’s service to Dubai which operates up to three-times-daily. Flight BA73 will depart Heathrow at 2225, arriving into Abu Dhabi at 0830 the following day, with the return leg BA72 leaving the UAE capital at 1010 and landing back into London at 1520. Emirates now offers meal pre-ordering service on 92 routes – Business Traveller

Emirates has further extended its meal pre-ordering service for business class customers. The service was piloted on all flights between Dubai and London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports this summer, and subsequently extended to European routes including Warsaw, Venice, Rome, Bologna, Prague, Vienna, Moscow, Istanbul, Dublin, Hamburg, St Petersburg, Brussels and Madrid. It has now been rolled out to 92 routes globally, with 30 new destinations added including Riyadh, Jeddah, Delhi, Mumbai and Kuala Lumpur. Emirates said that more than 10,000 pre-orders had been made on 3,000 flights since since the service went live, with more than 600 being made each day. Virgin Atlantic adds third weekly service to Grenada this winter – Business Traveller

Virgin Atlantic is to expand its Grenada route this winter, with a third weekly service operating between 8 December, 2023 and 29 March, 2024. A Friday service will join the carrier’s existing Tuesday and Sunday flights from Heathrow, with all three frequencies routing via Barbados. Earlier this year Virgin added fifth freedom services between Barbados and Grenada, allowing customers to fly between the islands. LEVEL has announced plans for its fifth US destination, with flights to Miami launching next year. The low-cost subsidiary of the International Airlines Group (IAG) will operate three flights per week between Barcelona and Miami International airport starting on 31 March, 2024. The carrier will lease a sixth A330-200 aircraft to accommodate the new service, configured with 314 seats. Norse Atlantic Airways has launched flights from London Gatwick to Miami, marking the carrier’s seventh destination in the US. The four-times-weekly service will increase to five times per week during the peak winter season, with return fares starting from £420 including taxes. Hawaiian Airlines today announced it will restart service between Tokyo’s Haneda airport and Ellison Onizuka Kona International airport, operating three flights 29 October through 4 November, before restarting regular weekly service on 22 November. The airline will gradually return to its original thrice-weekly schedule in March 2024. Malaysia Airlines plans to launch service between its Kuala Lumpur hub and Amritsar in India’s Northern Punjab region. In its latest schedule update, oneworld member Malaysia Airlines has filed two weekly frequencies on Kuala Lumpur-Amritsar. The route is currently scheduled to launch on 10 November and operate every Monday and Friday from the Malaysian capital. The outbound MH206 service will depart KL at 2300 and arrive in Amritsar at 0230 the following morning.
