WASHINGTON ― The debate stage for the 2024 GOP presidential nomination is down to five names, the Republican National Committee announced Monday, with coup-attempting former President Donald Trump still refusing to participate.Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, businessman Vivek Ramaswamy and South Carolina Sen. If you’ve frequented RedState for a while, you likely know I’m not a fan of the Republican National Committee. In fact, several writers on the site expressed open opposition to the re-election of Ronna McDaniel as its chairwoman. That coverage included a report on the wasteful spending of the RNC that became somewhat controversial, though not because it wasn’t completely truthful.
