Hotel Brooklyn properties in Leicester and Manchester to reflag under voco brand – Business Traveller

Hotel management company Kew Green Hotels has announced plans to reflag two existing properties in Leicester and Manchester under IHG’s voco brand. The group has acquired Hotel Brooklyn Leicester and Hotel Brooklyn Manchester, and has signed a franchise agreement with IHG to rebrand them as voco properties by mid-2024. The 189-room Hotel Brooklyn Manchester was unveiled in 2020 on the city’s Portland Street, while the 191-room Hotel Brooklyn Leicester opened last summer next to Welford Road Stadium, home of the Leicester Tigers rugby team. Miiro hotel brand planning properties in Paris and London – Business Traveller

Ascott confirms two new properties for Marrakech – Business Traveller

The Ascott Limited (Ascott) has announced two new properties to open in the Moroccan city of Marrakech. Ascott Hivernage Marrakech and The Unlimited Collection Hotel Marrakech are both slated to open by Q4 2026. The two new Morocco properties will together comprise 190 fully-furnished units. Ascott Hivernage Marrakech will have 100 units, including studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. IHG signs two properties in Saudi Arabia’s Taif – Business Traveller

Earlier this month, IHG Hotels and Resorts signed two properties in Saudi Arabia – Holiday Inn and Suites Taif and Staybridge Suites Taif. For both of these properties, it has partnered with the Al Jumaiah Group. The two properties are expected to open in Q4 2025 in Al Shafa in Taif which is located 2,500m above sea level. The dual signing of these hotels will add 280 rooms to IHG’s portfolio within the country. Holiday Inn and Suites Taif is situated in the Al Shafa Mountains. It will have standalone chalets and several amenities including an all-day dining speciality restaurant and lobby lounge. A new collection of independent luxury hotels has launched under the Elegant Hotel Collection banner. The soft brand initially counts 25 properties under its portfolio, including Stapleford Park in Melton Mowbray, Sunborn Hotel Gibraltar, Paresa Resort Phuket in Thailand,  La Sultana Oualidia in Morocco, and Cresta Palace Hotel in St Moritz.
