Manchester airport surpasses pre-pandemic passenger figures – Business Traveller

Manchester airport has reached an important milestone, with its passenger numbers overtaking pre-pandemic levels for the first time in October. The airport served 2.6 million passengers last month, which is equivalent to 105 per cent of 2019 levels. Passenger levels were also up 14 per cent on October 2022 and brought the airport’s rolling 12-month total to 27.6 million passengers. The airport said that demand had been driven by flights to destinations such as Dubai and an increase in city breaks to places including Amsterdam, Dublin and Paris. Increased load factors help LAX surpass pre-pandemic passenger numbers – Business Traveller

Los Angeles International airport has surpassed 2019 passenger numbers for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. The airport achieved the milestone twice last month, with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screening 111,017 passengers on 9 October (compared to 107,675 on the same day in 2019), and 94,686 passengers on 10 October (compared to 94,211). The figures were made possible due to increased load factors, as available seats on current LAX flights are still only at 88 per cent of pre-pandemic levels. Melbourne airport now at 82 per cent of pre-pandemic passenger levels – Business Traveller

More than 30 million people passed through Melbourne airport in the 12 months to June 2023, as demand for air travel continues its trajectory towards pre-pandemic levels. A total of 30,783,366 people used the airport’s four terminals in the 2023 financial year, including more than 22.5 million domestic passengers and almost 8.3 million international travellers. The overall figure represents a 138 per cent increase on the previous financial year, and 82 per cent of the 37.4 million passengers processed in the 2019 financial year, the airport says. Singapore’s Changi approaching pre-pandemic passenger numbers – Business Traveller

Singapore Changi Airport handled 5.12 million passenger movements in June 2023, crossing five million for the first time since January 2020, when the Covid-19 pandemic struck. This was 88 per cent of the passenger movements in June 2019. In terms of aircraft movements, a total of 27,500 landings and take-offs were recorded, about 88 per cent of the June 2019 level. On a quarterly basis, Changi Airport saw 14.6 million passenger movements from April to June 2023, which was 87 per cent of what was registered for the second quarter of 2019. Aircraft movements reached 81,400 or 86 per cent compared to the corresponding period in 2019.
