Earn tier points with everyday spend on British Airways Premium Plus Amex – Business Traveller

British Airways Executive Club members can now earn up to 200 tier points by spending £25,000 on the British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card. This is the first time British Airways Executive Club members have been able to earn tier points outside of flying. Previously, tier points could only be earned by flying with British Airways, its subsidiaries or its oneworld airline partners. Being able to earn tier points via card spend gives applicable members more opportunities to earn status and unlock travel perks such as lounge access, fast-track security, extra luggage allowances and priority boarding. Korean Air to add premium economy class – Business Traveller

South Korean flag carrier Korean Air will introduce a premium economy class product as it takes delivery of new Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the airline’s chief executive, Walter Cho, told media this week. The SkyTeam carrier already has 11 Boeing 787-9 long-haul aircraft in its current fleet, but is due to take delivery of nine more, plus 20 higher-capacity 787-10 Dreamliners over the coming years. In their current configuration, the Korean Air 787-9 Dreamliner seats 269 passengers – 24 in 1-2-1 business class and 245 in 3-3-3 economy class. All of KLM’s Boeing 787 aircraft now feature Premium Comfort seating – Business Traveller

KLM has provided an update on the rollout of its Premium Comfort seating. The Dutch carrier unveiled the new premium economy product in May 2022, and the first official flight to feature the cabin took place between Amsterdam and New York JFK in September last year. KLM has been gradually retrofitting its long-haul aircraft with the new seat, and has confirmed that its entire fleet of Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft now offer the product. SWISS to offer expanded premium economy cabin on A350s – Business Traveller

SWISS has confirmed the layout for its forthcoming Airbus A350 aircraft, including an expanded premium economy cabin. The carrier is expected to begin taking delivery of the first of five A350s from 2025, replacing its existing fleet of four A340 aircraft. The A350s will offer a total of 242 seats – 156 in economy, 38 in premium economy, 45 in business class, and three first class suites. The premium economy cabin is significantly larger than that already offered on SWISS’ Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A340-300 aircraft, which feature 24 and 21 premium economy seats respectively. Plaza Premium Group has opened a new lounge at Amman’s Queen Alia International airport, in partnership with dnata-owned Marhaba. The marhaba Plaza Premium Lounge is located on the mezzanine level above the airport’s duty free shopping area, and features interior design “inspired by the landscape of Amman and Jordan’s World Heritage Site Petra”. Facilities include seating for 130 guests, as well as showers, high-speed wifi, private workstations, and F&B options including halal, oriental and international dishes.
