Philippine Airlines to launch Seattle route – Business Traveller

Philippine Airlines (PAL) will launch nonstop flights between its Manila base and Seattle from 2 October 2024. PAL will be the first carrier to link the Philippines and the U.S. Pacific Northwest region. More than 900,000 Americans visited the Philippines in 2023, making the U.S. the country’s second largest source of inbound tourists. The Philippine flag carrier will also serve the growing number of Filipinos visiting family and friends in Washington and Oregon, which are home to more than 240,000 Filipino Americans. The PAL Manila-Seattle service will initially operate three times weekly – on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Philippine Airlines firms long-haul winter schedule – Business Traveller

Manila-based Filipino flag carrier group Philippine Airlines (PAL) has finalised its long-haul schedule for the period to 30 March. PAL will fly twice a day between Manila and Los Angeles this winter. Elsewhere in the US, the carrier will operate a daily service to San Francisco, and four times a week to New York’s Kennedy airport. Manila-Guam will see daily flights, while Manila-Honolulu will be five-weekly. In Canada, PAL will fly daily to Vancouver this winter, and twice a week to Toronto. PAL notes that on its New York, Los Angeles and Toronto flights a stopover or payload restrictions may be required on certain days due to airspace or weather conditions. Emirates and Philippine Airlines enhance interline partnership – Business Traveller

Emirates and Philippine Airlines (PAL) have expanded their interline agreement which they commenced earlier this year. In March, the two carrier agreed an interline partnership wherein Emirates’ passengers were granted access to 19 Philippine domestic destinations operated by Philippine Airlines, including Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod, Cotabato, Davao, Iloilo, Kalibo and more, as well as two Asian regional points via Manila. Philippine Airlines ‘welcomes’ United’s Manila move – Business Traveller

Philippine Airlines (PAL) says it “welcomes additional competition on transpacific routes, a sign of the strength and vitality of the air travel market between the Philippines and the United States”. This follows United Airlines’ announcement earlier this week that confirmed the Star Alliance member would launch daily 777-300ER service to Manila by late October. The Manila launch was part of another wide-ranging United trans-Pacific expansion, with more flights from Hong Kong, including to Los Angeles, as well as from Taipei, Japan, and Manila.
