Yet many Democrats fear that acknowledging this in a voice louder than a library whisper would help Donald Trump and damage their inevitable 2024 nominee. Rep. Dean Phillips has no qualms about weakening Mr. Biden. “He’s going to lose anyway,” the Minnesota Democrat says. “I don’t see any way for Biden to beat Trump in any circumstance whatsoever.” The people truly undermining Mr. Biden are the ones “propagating this delusion that he can be the next president.”Copyright ©2023 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. ‘Shary Boyle: Outside the Palace of Me’ Review: A Theatrical New York Debut

New YorkShary Boyle is a lot of things: sculptor, painter, draftsperson, performer, filmmaker. But above all she’s a storyteller. That is abundantly clear in “Outside the Palace of Me,” the Canadian artist’s solo show at the Museum of Arts and Design that warrants as many descriptions as she does: transportive, theatrical, whimsical and captivating, to name just a few.Copyright ©2023 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. Samuel Morse’s Moving Portrait of the Marquis de Lafayette

Samuel Morse came to Washington in February 1825, an ambitious but frustrated 33-year-old artist. Before the discovery of telegraphy and the code that bears his name, he was nearly as well known for his paintings as for his father, the famed geographer Jedidiah Morse. The mayor is patching the city’s budget amid a growing migrant crisis, but government workers are dragging him to court to block cost savings. One of New York’s largest public unions sued Wednesday to prevent City Hall from curtailing a costly jobs program. The parks and sanitation departments currently pay welfare recipients to do custodial work, but the city’s Office of Management and Budget wants to save money by shifting about 2,300 of those positions to outside firms. These savings are low-hanging fruit for a city with a $7 billion budget gap, but the union won’t budge.Copyright ©2023 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. All Rights Reserved. 87990cbe856818d5eddac44c7b1cdeb8
