Marriott boosts Vietnam luxury pipeline – Business Traveller

Marriott has announced the signing of deals to open three new luxury resorts in Vietnam. The signings mark the expected debut of two new brands into Vietnam – Ritz-Carlton Reserve and The Luxury Collection – on the little-known Hon Thom Island in Phu Quoc. Additionally, Marriott also announced Vietnam’s third JW Marriott Hotel, set for Trang An, the UNESCO World Heritage destination in northern Vietnam. Marriott opens W property on Sydney’s Darling Harbour – Business Traveller

Design elements include a copper-clad entry paying homage to subterranean Sydney and its disused railway tunnels, and a blue circular bar and nest-like seating referencing the Australian Bowerbird. Sydney was in fact the first location for the W Hotels brand outside the US, but the original W Sydney in the city’s Woolloomooloo  suburb was rebranded as the Blue Hotel (managed by Taj Hotels and Resorts) in 2007, and has since again been rebranded under the Ovolo brand. Marriott International has launched an all-new Four Points Express by Sheraton brand that will be positioned under its midscale segment. The company has already signed three deals across the UK and Türkiye for the new brand and has also signed letters of intent for future Four Points Express hotels in markets such as Poland, Belgium and the UK. Marriott International this month celebrated the milestone opening of its 50th hotel in Thailand with the Madi Paidi Bangkok, Autograph Collection, a 56-room and suites boutique hotel in Bangkok’s Thong Lor district. Marriott confirms second property for Al Marjan Island – Business Traveller

Marjan, the master developer of freehold properties in Ras Al Khaimah, has announced the launch of a W Hotel on Al Marjan Island on the back of a collaboration between Marriott International and Dalands Holding. Slated to open in early 2027, W Al Marjan Island will not only be Marriott International’s second hospitality venture on the island, but also as W Hotel’s first property in Ras Al Khaimah. Marriott International has launched what it says is India’s first co-branded hotel credit card, in partnership with HDFC Bank. The Diners Club card has an annual fee of INR 3,000, and offers a free night award and Marriott Bonvoy Silver status upon sign-up. Cardholders will earn two points per INR 150 spent on eligible purchases, rising to eight points per INR 150 spent on eligible purchases at participating Marriott hotels. Marriott has opened the latest US property under its Delta brand. Delta Hotels by Marriott New York Times Square is located at 340 West 40th Street, around half a mile from the city’s famous intersection. An existing property has been refurbished to offer 310 rooms with platform beds, a lounge area and free wifi, as well as facilities including a lobby bar, George’s Nephew restaurant and a fitness centre.
