Mcap of 8 of top-10 most valued firms jump Rs 1.29 lakh crore; HDFC Bank biggest gainer

NEW DELHI: The combined market valuation of eight of the top-10 most valued firms jumped Rs 1,29,899.22 crore in a holiday-shortened last week, where equity benchmark indices recorded a sharp rally.Last week, the BSE benchmark jumped 1,133.3 points or 1.59 per cent. M-cap of 7 most valued cos add Rs 3.04 trn; HDFC Bank, LIC biggest gainers

The combined market valuation of seven of the 10 most valued firms climbed Rs 3,04,477.25 crore last week, with HDFC Bank and LIC emerging as the biggest gainers amid an overall optimistic trend in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark rallied 2,344.41 points or 3.47 per cent. On Friday, the 30-share BSE Sensex rose 303.91 points, or 0.44 per cent, to hit its new peak of 69,825.60. The index touched the highest intra-day level of 69,893.80. In a first, NSE listed companies’ market capitalisation surpass USD 4 trillion mark

NEW DELHI: The market capitalisation of listed companies on the NSEhas surpassed the USD 4 trillion (Rs 334.72 trillion) mark for the first time ever, with the benchmark Nifty hitting its all-time high of 20,291.55 last Friday. The benchmark Nifty climbed 134.75 points or 0.67 per cent to settle at an all-time high of 20,267.90 on Friday. During the day, the benchmark reached its intra-day record high of 20,291.55. Indian markets hit historic $4 trn market cap milestone for the first time

Indian markets on Wednesday hit the historic $4 trillion market cap milestone for the first time. Currently, there are only three countries in the $4-trillion-plus mcap club--US, China and Japan. Hong Kong too, is part of the club. However, a large contribution is on account of companies belonging elsewhere, mainly China. M-cap of 4 of top-10 firms decline by Rs 23,417 cr; TCS biggest laggard

The combined market valuation of four of the top-10 most valued firms fell by Rs 23,417.15 crore last week, with IT majors Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) taking the biggest hit. Last week, the BSE benchmark advanced 540.9 points or 0.84 per cent. While Reliance Industries Ltd, TCS, Hindustan Unilever Ltd and Infosys faced erosion from their market capitalisation (mcap), HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, ITC, Bharti Airtel, State Bank of India and Bajaj Finance witnessed a combined addition of Rs 17,386.45 crore.
