Delta increases Miami lounge capacity by more than 50 per cent – Business Traveller

Delta will operate 34 peak-day flights to 12 destinations from Miami this summer. The expansion of the Miami space is a continuation of Delta’s programme of upgrading existing facilities and opening new lounges across the US. Last year the carrier unveiled a total of seven new, expanded or reopened Sky Club locations, including a lounge within the new Terminal A at New York’s Newark airport and a nature-inspired Sky Club at Minneapolis-Saint Paul. Newcastle airport to refurbish and expand Aspire lounge – Business Traveller

Newcastle airport has announced plans to upgrade its Aspire lounge over the next six months. The £1.7 million project will see the facility refurbished and expanded, with space for an additional 100 passengers. Aspire said that the lounge would become its flagship facility in the UK, with a three-tier system being introduced within one lounge for the first time. Star Alliance opens second lounge at Paris CDG – Business Traveller

Star Alliance has today opened its second lounge at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport. The 1,300 sqm lounge is located airside after immigration and security in the newest part of Terminal 1. The lounge is open to first and business class passengers as well as Star Alliance Gold status customers on member airline flights departing from gates 10-38. Eligible United Club and Air Canada Maple Leaf Club members can also gain entry to the lounge. At the moment, 20 Star Alliance member carriers operate from the airport, offering 464 weekly departures to 34 destinations in 22 countries. LOT Polish to open first US lounge at Chicago O’Hare – Business Traveller

LOT Polish Airlines has begun construction of its first airport lounge outside of Europe. The 617 sqm facility at Chicago O’Hare airport is scheduled to open in late Q3 / early Q4 next year, with the design currently being finalised and a “prestigious architectural firm” having been invited to collaborate on the project. LOT said that the new lounge will have views of the airport apron, with three zones for relaxation, work and catering.
