Edyn has opened the latest property under its fledgling Cove brand. Cove Huntingdon House is located within an existing building on Kensington’s Cromwell Road, around ten minutes’ walk north of Earl’s Court Station. Features include three one-bedroom and 11 two-bedroom apartments, with interior design by Berlin-based Amy Brandhorst. The property has been designed for stays of 90 days or more, with rates starting from £150 + VAT per night. Cove Huntingdon House is located next to another edyn property – Ember Locke – which opened this summer following the conversion of the former NH Kensington hotel. Whitbread planning hotel development next to London’s Fenchurch Street station – Business Traveller

Whitbread has announced plans for its latest City of London hotel, following the acquisition of an office building next to Fenchurch Street station. Premier Inn’s owner has acquired the 1970s New London House building on London Street for £56.5 million, and plans to convert it into a hotel-led mixed use development. Whitbread will now seek planning consent from the City of London Corporation to repurpose and extend the building – which currently comprises a podium and tower structure. Aside from a new hotel the group plans to develop “a mix of complementary uses on Crutched Friars and London Street together with new public spaces”. Plans have been unveiled for the redevelopment and restoration of The Saville Theatre on London’s Shaftesbury Avenue. The venue first opened in 1931, and has hosted live performances by acts including the Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, The Who and Jimi Hendrix. In more recent times the site has housed a four-screen Odeon cinema, but there are now plans to return the building to a live performance venue, including new accommodation and dining facilities. Bain Capital Special Situations and Orka Investments Limited have received planning permission to convert the former Park Lane Mews Hotel into an 82-room luxury property, featuring a signature restaurant, lobby bar and café, and a private members’ space. The Ascott Ltd has announced plans to add the first property under The Crest Collection in the UK. Earlier this year the group outlined expansion plans for the brand, with locations including Jakarta, Bangkok, Tokyo, Osaka and London. One Sloane hotel to open in London’s Chelsea in September – Business Traveller

London’s Chelsea neighbourhood will welcome the new One Sloane hotel this September, located at 1 Sloane Gardens just off Sloane Square. The hotel is a collaboration between Parisian hotelier Costes, designer Francois-Joseph Graf and the 300-year-old Cadogan Estate. One Sloane is a conversion of a former retail and residential block, with the six-year project retaining the facade of the 19th century building while adding a sixth floor with its own cupola. Interiors, meanwhile, have been remodelled by Graf and a team of artisans and craftspeople, with design features including ceiling cornices, wood wall panelling, antique chairs, mosaic tiling and chandeliers suspended from a painted stormy skied ceiling.
