LNER to boost Sunday services between Yorkshire and London – Business Traveller

LNER has announced plans to add more services and seats between Yorkshire and London on Sundays. The rail operator said that Sundays “are now one of the most popular days for journeys with 30 per cent more customers travelling across the 956-mile LNER network than in 2019”. To meet this demand LNER is adding three additional services to its timetable – two between Leeds and London King’s Cross and one between Doncaster and London. No1 Lounges to open two spaces at London Luton airport – Business Traveller

Swissport and Airport Dimensions have announced plans to add two facilities under the No1 Lounges portfolio at London Luton airport. Firstly let’s take a step back and look at the background to this. In 2021 Airport Dimensions (a subsidiary of Collinson – owner of the Priority Pass brand) formed a joint venture with Swissport to acquire No1 Lounges. A Clubrooms lounge (part of the No1 Lounges portfolio) had opened in 2019 at London Luton airport, but this closed in 2020 following the onset of Covid-19, and did not initially form part of the above agreement. It has remained closed since then. Meanwhile there is an Aspire Lounge at Luton airport, which reopened in 2020 following renovation and has been operating since. Zetter Hotels will open its third boutique property in London in 2025, with a site in Bloomsbury. The hotel will mark the brand’s first opening in ten years and join existing properties in Marylebone and Clerkenwell. Air Canada to increase services to London and Manchester in 2024 – Business Traveller

Air Canada plans to operate 100 per cent of its peak summer 2019 transatlantic capacity next year, owing to “robust recovery” in the international market. The airline has announced an expansion of services to European destinations for summer 2024, which includes additional flights to London and Manchester. Toronto-London will increase to four-times-daily from April to October, while Toronto-Manchester will increase to six flights per week from June to September. Easyjet has announced a new year-round route from London Luton to Egypt’s capital. This will be the first time that the low-cost carrier will operate to Cairo, with existing routes to Sharm-el-Sheikh and Hurghada in Egypt. Emirates has announced plans to operate an additional five-a-week service to London Heathrow during the winter season, owing to anticipated demand.
