Loganair halts sale process and will refurbish Embraer 145s – Business Traveller

Loganair has confirmed its owners are no longer looking to sell the Scottish independent carrier. In October 2022 the airline announced that Stephen and Peter Bond had decided to sell up after 25 years, but with no deal having coming to fruition the brother have decided to halt the process. In a statement Loganair said that Stephen and Peter “will remain as owners of the company for the foreseeable future, and are fully supportive of its progress and continued development – just as they have been over 25 years of engagement with Loganair”. LoganAir announces summer 2024 schedule to Donegal – Business Traveller

Loganair is set to increase its summer schedule between Glasgow and Donegal for summer 2024 following strong passenger demand. The regional carrier relaunched flights between the two destinations in July this year, after a hiatus since 2021. Running from April to October next year, the Scottish airline will operate four flights per week, up from this year’s schedule of three flights per week. The UK’s largest regional airline remains the only carrier offering a direct air link between the UK and Donegal. The summer schedule will launch on 5 April, 2024, operated by the ATR-42 aircraft, and will run on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Loganair partners with Met Office and FLYHT to improve weather forecasts – Business Traveller

Loganair has joined forces with the Met Office and aviation hardware specialists FLYHT Aerospace to improve the accuracy of weather forecasts and reduce flight emissions. The project will see all 13 of Loganair’s Embraer 145’s equipped with FLHYT-WVSS-II atmospheric water vapour sensors which will measure weather data for the Met Office. The airline’s Embraer fleet operates three to four flights daily across the UK. The sensors will routinely monitor environmental conditions around the aircraft during the flight and allow the airline to collect meteorological information. It is hoped that the project will increase the industry’s understanding of non-CO2 effects of aviation, such as the emissions of nitrous oxides and sulphur dioxide, which are estimated to contribute to around 48 per cen...
