Virgin Atlantic to increase flights from Heathrow to Boston and JFK – Business Traveller

Virgin Atlantic has outlined plans to increase capacity on its key US routes from London Heathrow to Boston and New York JFK next summer. The carrier will operate seven daily flights to JFK for summer 2024, as well as offering a twice-daily service to Boston. Virgin highlighted that when combined with flights operated by its joint venture partner Delta, the two airlines would offer a total of ten daily flights between Heathrow and New York JFK, and three daily services between Heathrow and Boston. The new frequencies will be served by Virgin’s newest A330-900neo and A350-1000 aircraft. The carrier will operate an average of 27 daily departures to the US next summer, including a new seasonal service between Manchester and Las Vegas. Air France’s Paris CDG-New York JFK services to take on “iconic Concorde flight numbers” – Business Traveller

Customers flying on Air France’s key Paris CDG-New York JFK route may note a change to the flight numbers from next week. The carrier has decided to reassign current flights AF015 (JFK to CDG) and AF022 (CDG to JFK) as AF001 and AF002 respectively. The iconic flight numbers were previously assigned to Concorde services until the supersonic aircraft was retired in 2003. The move takes effect from 29 October, as part of Air France’s 90th anniversary celebrations. New York JFK Terminal 8 to get $125 million retail and dining revamp – Business Traveller

American Airlines has announced a $125 million project to redevelop the dining and shopping experience at New York JFK’s Terminal 8. The two-year project will be carried out in partnership with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield Airports, and will add a new Great Hall with more than 60 new dining and retail options at the terminal. It follows the unveiling of the $400 million expansion of JFK’s Terminal 8 towards the end of last year, which saw British Airways move into the terminal alongside its oneworld partner American.
