The Nippon Steel Deal Is Good for America

Democrats and Republicans alike are assailing Nippon Steel’s prospective purchase of U.S. Steel as a threat to national security. The complaints are misplaced. The Journal recently reported that Ireland is “swimming in money.” It’s a vivid example of the Laffer Curve, which shows that lower tax rates can result in faster growth and higher revenue.
