Hyatt adds first Barcelona property under Grand Hyatt brand – Business Traveller

Hyatt has added the second Spanish property and just the fifth in Europe under its Grand Hyatt brand. Grand Hyatt Barcelona is located on Plaça de Piu XII on the city’s famous Avenida Diagonal, and features 465 rooms including 49 suites. If this sounds familiar it’s because the existing property was previously trading under Hyatt’s Unbound Collection. The hotel originally opened in 1975 as Hotel Princesa Sofia, before becoming an InterContinental property in the 1990s. As previously reported the hotel was fully renovated in 2017, and was reflagged as Hotel Sofia Barcelona – Unbound Collection by Hyatt at the start of 2019. Hyatt has announced plans to bring its extended stay Hyatt House brand to Australia. The 97-room Hyatt House Melbourne South is scheduled to open in 2025, within a mixed used development located close to the city’s ANZAC station. The new-build property will offer a mix of studios and residential-style Kitchen Suites, featuring a kitchen island, fridge, stovetop and living room. Hyatt unveils first locations for extended-stay Hyatt Studios brand – Business Traveller

Hyatt has revealed that the US states of Alabama and California will be home to the first properties from its extended-stay brand, Hyatt Studios. The company launched the upper midscale brand in April, and signed letters of interest for more than 100 Hyatt Studios hotels in the Americas. The debut property from the brand will open in late 2024 in Mobile, Alabama, thanks to a franchise agreement with 3H Group, Inc.
