Hotel Hana to open in Paris next month – Business Traveller

The French capital’s 2nd arrondissement will soon see a new boutique hotel join its ranks. Hotel Hana will open in December, located within a restored Haussman building at at 17 Rue du Quatre-Septembre, close to the Opéra Garnier and Galeries Lafayette. The hotel, which means flower in Japanese, will offer just 25 rooms, including two suites, and its opening will mark the latest addition to the Addresses Hotels collection of boutique properties. Contemporary design by artistic director Olivier Leone and architect and interior designer Laura Gonzalez is described as a fusion of Parisian elegance, “the opulence of early 20th century maximalism” and Japanese minimalism. Hilton is set to add its first property in the northern French city of Lille next year. The former Crowne Plaza Lille Euralille is available to book via hilton.com from 1 November – initially operating as the independent Hotel Lille EuraLille before becoming the Hilton Lille in summer 2024 following renovations. The 124-room hotel is located next to Gare de Lille-Europe, with its Eurostar and TGV connections. Features will include Europa restaurant and COOPER bar, as well as a new executive lounge, and 360 sqm of meeting and events space. Hilton to open Canopy hotel in Polish capital – Business Traveller

Hilton has announced plans to open the first property in Poland under its lifestyle Canopy brand. Canopy by Hilton Warsaw is scheduled to open in 2025 at Wilcza 50/52, around ten minutes’ walk from the Palace of Culture and Science and Warsaw Central Station. The 170-room hotel will the brand’s signature Canopy Central lobby hub, as well as meeting and events space, and a rooftop terrace “where visitors can enjoy a coffee or cocktail alongside a menu of delicious, locally-inspired dishes”. Accor will debut its Novotel brand in the Spanish city of Valencia next year. The group is set to renovate the former Expo Hotel located in the Turia Garden district between the Valencia’s historic centre and the city’s main conference centre, the Palacio de Congresos. The renovated property is set to open in the second half of 2024, and will offer 370 rooms, a coffee shop and restaurant, a rooftop terrace with swimming pool and bar, a fitness centre and “a large meeting a coworking area”. A new collection of independent luxury hotels has launched under the Elegant Hotel Collection banner. The soft brand initially counts 25 properties under its portfolio, including Stapleford Park in Melton Mowbray, Sunborn Hotel Gibraltar, Paresa Resort Phuket in Thailand, La Sultana Oualidia in Morocco, and Cresta Palace Hotel in St Moritz. Dalata Hotel Group has added its first property in the Netherlands, following the acquisition of a leasehold interest in Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American. The hotel is located on the corner of Leidsekade Canal and Leidseplein Square, and is now known as the Clayton Hotel Amsterdam American. The four-star property features 173 rooms, a lobby bar, fitness centre, and Cafe and Bar Americain. Housed within a UNESCO Heritage protected building which was built in 1903, the property was formerly home to the American Hotel, and only joined the Hard Rock collection of hotels in 2020. Whitbread has announced plans for its latest City of London hotel, following the acquisition of an office building next to Fenchurch Street station. Premier Inn’s owner has acquired the 1970s New London House building on London Street for £56.5 million, and plans to convert it into a hotel-led mixed use development. Whitbread will now seek planning consent from the City of London Corporation to repurpose and extend the building – which currently comprises a podium and tower structure. Travelodge acquires first ibis hotel – Business Traveller

Travelodge has opened its second hotel in the Northamptonshire town of Wellingborough, following the group’s first acquisition of an ibis property. In recent years there have been several Travelodge hotels switching to the ibis brand, including two properties at Heathrow in 2021, and nine hotels joining the ibis Budget brand in the same year. But this agreement sees the reverse, with the former ibis Wellingborough being reflagged as the Wellingborough Travelodge, following a joint decision by AccorInvest and the previous landlord to terminate the lease.
