Hilton to develop up to 100 NoMad Hotels following Sydell Group acquisition – Business Traveller

Hilton has announced plans to expand the luxury lifestyle NoMad Hotels brand worldwide, following the acquisition of a majority controlling interest in the brand’s owner Sydell Group. There are currently two NoMad Hotels in Las Vegas and London – however the US property is excluded from the transaction, and will rebrand in the coming months. The NoMad London opened in 2021 within the Grade II listed former Bow Street Magistrates’ Court and Police Station in Covent Garden. Hilton Honors has launched a new bonus points promotion for members staying in early 2024. The Points Plus promotion is offering a bonus of 2,000 points per stay, and an additional 500 bonus points when using the group’s Digital Key service. To be eligible for the bonus points members must register at hiltonhonors.com/PointsPlus before completing a stay within the promotional period. Tru by Hilton to open first NYC property – Business Traveller

Hilton is set to open the first New York City property under its mid-market Tru by Hilton brand in the coming months. A press release states that Tru by Hilton Brooklyn will debut at the end of 2023 (although the hotel’s website currently says it is accepting reservations from 3 February, 2024). Hilton is set to add its first property in the northern French city of Lille next year. The former Crowne Plaza Lille Euralille is available to book via hilton.com from 1 November – initially operating as the independent Hotel Lille EuraLille before becoming the Hilton Lille in summer 2024 following renovations. The 124-room hotel is located next to Gare de Lille-Europe, with its Eurostar and TGV connections. Hilton London Olympia to more than double in size – Business Traveller

Plans have been unveiled to renovate and extend the existing Hilton London Olympia, adding hundreds of additional rooms and new rooftop space. Frogmore and C1 Capital – which together acquired the property in 2022 – have been granted planning consent to more than double the hotel’s room count from 404 to 905 rooms. Part of the property’s existing structure will be retained, and a new rooftop garden and bar will be added alongside the additional bedrooms. Hilton to debut LXR brand in Italy – Business Traveller

Hilton has announced plans to add the first Italian property under its luxury LXR Hotels and Resorts brand. The existing four-star Grand Hotel Gardone Lake Garda will joins Hilton’s luxury portfolio in 2026, following a multimillion Euro renovation project, which the group said would elevate the hotel’s interiors “while preserving the grand facade”. It’s not clear if the property will remain open during the renovation works – Business Traveller has contacted Hilton for clarification, and will post any response here. Hilton to open Canopy hotel in Polish capital – Business Traveller

Hilton has announced plans to open the first property in Poland under its lifestyle Canopy brand. Canopy by Hilton Warsaw is scheduled to open in 2025 at Wilcza 50/52, around ten minutes’ walk from the Palace of Culture and Science and Warsaw Central Station. The 170-room hotel will the brand’s signature Canopy Central lobby hub, as well as meeting and events space, and a rooftop terrace “where visitors can enjoy a coffee or cocktail alongside a menu of delicious, locally-inspired dishes”. Hilton unveils autumn menus with carbon labelling across UK hotels – Business Traveller

Earlier this year Hilton introduced carbon labelling onto menus across almost 30 hotels in the UK, and has now revealed insights based on guests’ dining choices. The hotel company has worked with sustainability experts Klimato to develop its menus and promote lower carbon options, labelling dishes as low, medium or high impact based on the carbon footprint per serving. The labelling first appeared on menus in May across select hotels in UK cities such as London, Liverpool, Leeds and Newcastle. Its intention is to inspire guests to consider the environmental impact of their choices when dining at the restaurants, with almost half of the dishes served at participating hotels identified as ‘low impact’.
