Blacklane Middle East expands all-electric fleet tenfold – Business Traveller

Luxury chauffeur hailing service Blacklane Middle East has announced a tenfold increase in its all-electric fleet size ahead of the COP28 summit in the UAE. Having launched in the UAE in March 2023, Blacklane says that the expansion includes Mercedes EQS-SUVs. It adds that there has been a surge in demand for sustainable transportation solutions in the region, with the service reporting a 200 per cent increase in ride volumes during the last quarter. To accompany the growth in its fleet, Blacklane has also increased the number of its chauffeurs, particularly female chauffeurs. Malaysia Airlines grows Airbus A350 fleet – Business Traveller

Kuala Lumpur-based oneworld member, Malaysia Airlines, is growing its long-haul Airbus A350 fleet following the acquisition of a seventh A350-900. The flag carrier tells Business Traveller Asia-Pacific: “Malaysia Airlines has acquired an additional A350-900 aircraft, growing its A350 fleet size to seven aircraft from the current six. The aircraft bearing registration number 9M-MAH, arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Victorville, California on 12 November 2023.” The aircraft was manufactured in 2020 and previously operated for SAS – Scandinavian Airlines. Solomon Airlines expands fleet and network – Business Traveller

Solomon Airlines has announced an expansion of services between the Solomon Islands and Australia from October, following the arrival of the airline’s second international aircraft last month. Its latest A320 is fitted with modern interiors in blue, grey and white tones and all-leather seats across two classes. The 12 business class seats are in a 2-2 configuration. They are 21 inches wide, can recline up to 10 inches, and feature a pitch of 40 inches. The 138 economy class seats are in a 3-3 configuration. These are 17 inches wide, recline up to 3 inches, and offer a generous 33-inch pitch. Akasa Air prepares to go international with the induction of its 20th aircraft to their fleet

Akasa Air has inducted its 20th aircraft, a Boeing B737-8-200 in the fleet. This will now enable Akasa to fly internationally, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) norms. Akasa Air claimed that it became the first airline in Asia to add the B737-8-200 aircraft to its fleet. The 20th aircraft is registered as VT-YAV, which landed in Bengaluru International Airport today at 9:31 am and received a ceremonial welcome. Akasa has reached a fleet size of 20 aircraft within a year of commencing operations.
