Stop Double Dipping on Customer Money, Watchdog Tells UK Money Managers

Shares of UK money managers fell in London after the Financial Conduct Authority aired concerns over the amount of interest firms earn on customers’ cash balances as well as fees they charge clients for holding their money — a practice known as double dipping.In a letter to investment platforms, the regulator said these practices may not provide fair value to customers. The FCA told firms to review how much interest they retain and stop double dipping, according to a statement Tuesday.
