United launches preferred seat type waitlist feature – Business Traveller

Ever gone through the seat selection process with an airline only to find your preferred seat type is not available? United Airlines is rolling out a feature which it says will make it easier for its customers to get their desired seat type, “even if their preferred seat isn’t available during booking”. Passengers can now visit the carrier’s mobile app to request their preferred seat type, and will be automatically assigned and notified about their new seat assignment should the requested type become available. The new feature allows customers to select preferences for window or aisle seats, as well as exit rows or bulkhead seats. All of KLM’s Boeing 787 aircraft now feature Premium Comfort seating – Business Traveller

KLM has provided an update on the rollout of its Premium Comfort seating. The Dutch carrier unveiled the new premium economy product in May 2022, and the first official flight to feature the cabin took place between Amsterdam and New York JFK in September last year. KLM has been gradually retrofitting its long-haul aircraft with the new seat, and has confirmed that its entire fleet of Boeing 787-9 and 787-10 aircraft now offer the product. Around 20 per cent of Travelodge hotels to feature budge-luxe design by year end – Business Traveller

Travelodge has published an update on the rollout of of its budget-luxe revamp, with a total of 55 properties set to benefit from the new design this year. Of these, 25 hotels have already been upgraded in time for the peak summer period, including properties in Cheltenham, Ipswich, Oxford, Newport and Southampton. The group’s two largest hotels have also been updated – the 463-room Travelodge London Covent Garden, and the 408-room Travelodge London Kings Cross Royal Scot. Travelodge unveiled the budget-luxe design in April 2022, with features including a new “timeless classic style” reception, as well as a contemporary Bar Cafe concept and redesigned rooms.
