American Airlines unveils catering facility at Dallas Fort Worth International – Business Traveller

American Airlines has unveiled a $100 million catering facility to serve its hub at Dallas Fort Worth International airport (DFW). At just under 20,000 sqm, the building is the largest airline catering kitchen in the country according to the carrier and is more than three times the size of a football field. The airline says that, since it opened at the start of the summer, the kitchen has helped to “minimise catering delays, improving the hub’s operation which in turn improves the airline’s operation”. During peak travel season, the catering facility prepares nearly 15,000 fresh meals a day here. Saudi Arabia expands visitor e-visa facility to eight additional countries – Business Traveller

Saudi Arabia has announced that it will grant visitor e-visa to travellers from eight newly-eligible countries: Albania, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, South Africa, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, for leisure, business and religious (Umrah only) travel. Nationals of these countries can apply for a visitor visa ahead of their journey via the official e-visa portal. The visitor e-visa is valid for an entire year, grants multiple entries, and permits a stay of up to 90 days, reported Saudi Press Agency. Billy Bishop Toronto City airport to gain US preclearance facility – Business Traveller

Billy Bishop Toronto City airport is to become the ninth Canadian airport to have US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) preclearance facilities. Owner PortsToronto confirmed that up to $30 million in funding for the facility at the city’s downtown airport will be provided by the federal government, with construction expected to take between 18 and 24 months. Once the preclearance facility opens in 2025, passengers will be able to clear customs before departure from the airport, rather than upon landing in the US.
