No Heathrow Express or Elizabeth Line trains to Heathrow this weekend – Business Traveller

Transport for London (TfL) has outlined disruption to rail and Underground services to Heathrow on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 November, in what it says is “a complex weekend of closures”. Planned Heathrow engineering works mean the Elizabeth Line and Heathrow Express will not run to the airport all weekend. Piccadilly line trains will operate between central London and Terminals, 2,3 and 4, but there will be no trains running to or from Terminal 5, with an inter-terminal transfer bus service operating between Terminal 2&3 and T5. Passengers looking to travel between T4 and T5 are advised to use either the free H30 bus or TfL 482 / 490 services. TransPennine Express publishes blueprint to address customer issues – Business Traveller

Government-run TransPennine Express has published a new blueprint which it says aims to “address many of the issues which have caused problems and disruption for rail customers”. Earlier this year the decision was made not to renew FirstGroup’s TransPennine Express franchise following a period of poor performance, with the service being transferred to the state-owned operator of last resort (OLR). New operating company DOHL (standing for DfT OLR Holdings) has now published what it is calling the Making Journeys Better prospectus, which addresses the high rates of cancellations and union disputes which have plagued the franchise. Express bus service between Heathrow and Croydon doubles in frequency – Business Traveller

Transport for London has rolled out the latest phase of its Superloop express bus service, with the renaming and increased frequency of the route between Heathrow and south London. The former X26 between Heathrow Central and West Croydon is now known as the SL7, and has doubled in frequency to one bus every 15 minutes. TfL also said that “Other improvements to follow on many of the buses include improved customer information, USB charging and luggage racks”. Marriott Bonvoy members can now earn points at City Express properties, following the integration of the brand into the programme. Marriott announced plans to acquire the City Express brand last year, in a US$100 million deal with Mexican company Hotels City Express. The agreement has added around 150 City Express by Marriott properties in the Caribbean and Latin America. The former City Premios Rewards programme has now been fully integrated into the Marriott Bonvoy scheme, with members able to transfer existing points balances until 30 September. Travellers looking to get between Dublin airport and Belfast now have a new option, with the launch of the Dublin Express bus route. The new service is offering 16 trips per day in either direction, with the first departure from Dublin City and Dublin airport at 0520 and 0600 respectively, and the last services departing at 0010 and 0100. There are stops at Burgh Quay, Westland Row and Custom House Quay in Dublin, as well as a stop outside Dublin airport Terminal 1, and one on Glengall Street in Belfast.
