Etihad and China Eastern Airlines to strengthen cooperation – Business Traveller

UAE national carrier Etihad Airways has signed a strategic cooperation Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China Eastern Airlines. The two carriers plan to implement a broad collaboration including an expanded codeshare, reciprocal loyalty programmes, cargo transport, maintenance, repair and overhaul, ground handling, catering, lounge access, staff training, and several sustainability initiatives. “The MoU is expected to facilitate China Eastern’s aim to begin services to Abu Dhabi through its discussions with Abu Dhabi Airports and the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi. Etihad to commence flights to Bali in 2024 – Business Traveller

UAE national carrier Etihad Airways will initiate nonstop flights to Bali next year. Starting 23 April 2024, it will operate four weekly flights from Abu Dhabi to Ngurah Rai International airport in Indonesia. Etihad will operate flights to Bali four times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It will deploy its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the route. Air France, Etihad and Lufthansa ads banned over misleading environmental claims – Business Traveller

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has ruled that Air France, Etihad and Lufthansa must stop showing “misleading” adverts promoting the airlines’ environmental impact. In three separate rulings the ASA said that the adverts in question “must not appear again in the form complained about”. In the case of Air France the ASA challenged an ad which stated “Manchester to Bangkok […] Air France flights […] Air France is committed to protecting the environment: travel better and sustainably”. Air France-KLM and Etihad have launched the next stage of their rapidly developing partnership, with the ability for frequent flyer members to earn and redeem across programmes. In September the two groups announced plans to significantly expand their codeshare agreement, with more than 40 new routes covering destinations across Europe, the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Australia. At the time a Memorandum of Understanding also proposed reciprocal frequent flyer benefits, alongside the possibility of terminal co-location, reciprocal lounge access and ground handling initiatives. Etihad adds third daily A380 service on London route – Business Traveller

Etihad Airways has further increased capacity on its London route, by adding a third daily A380 service. Effective 1 November, three of the carrier’s four daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Heathrow are now being operated by the superjumbo. It means that Etihad is now offering a total of 1,726 seats per day on the key London route. Flights EY17 (departing Abu Dhabi at 1405) and EY18 (departing Heathrow at 2055) join existing A380 services EY11/12 and EY19/20. Etihad signs codeshare with Scandinavian Airlines – Business Traveller

UAE national carrier Etihad Airways signed a codeshare agreement with Scandinavian Airlines (SAS), the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden, this week. The codeshare is expected to come into full service at the end of December 2023, which is when customers can book these tickets for travel from January.
