Emirates is expanding its flight schedules for Eid Al Fitr – Business Traveller

Emirates will be expanding its schedules across the region for the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holiday period, with 19 additional flights to destinations including Jedda, Kuwait, Beirut, and Amman. The airline is expecting more than 150,000 customers to fly with them during the holiday period across the region. Emirates becomes first airline to use 100 per cent SAF on an A380 flight – Business Traveller

On Wednesday, Emirates became the world’s first airline to operate an A380 demonstration flight using 100 per cent Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The flight was operated from Dubai International (DXB) with one of its four engines powered on 100 per cent SAF. That successful flight, Emirates says, helped demonstrate the potential of SAF “as a drop-in replacement that matches jet fuel’s technical and chemical requirements, while being a more sustainable alternative.” This is the first time that drop-in SAF has been used on an A380 aircraft. Emirates adds chauffeur drive service at Jakarta airport – Business Traveller

Emirates has further extended its premium chauffeur drive service to include arrivals and departures at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International airport. First and business class customers now benefit from a complimentary chauffeur drive for both departures and arrivals within an 80km radius of the airport. Bookings must be made at least 12 hours before scheduled flight times, and eligible passengers wishing to book longer journeys can pay a fee for additional mileage. Customers arriving into the airport will be greeted at gate 1 and assisted in transferring to Zone 2 for their chauffeur drive pick-up, and similarly those departing the airport will be dropped off at gate 2, enabling them to proceed to the carrier’s check-in counters at C Island. Dubai-based carrier Emirates has announced an order for 15 additional Airbus A350-900s at the Dubai Airshow 2023 in a deal worth US$6 billion. The latest agreement will take Emirates’ total A350 order book to 65 units. The first A350 is scheduled to join Emirates’ fleet in August 2024. With the addition of today’s orders, Emirates will continue to receive A350 deliveries until early 2028. “The A350-900s will add to our fleet mix and we are pleased to announce additional orders for this aircraft type. Emirates confirms US$52 billion widebody aircraft order – Business Traveller

Emirates has placed an order for 95 additional widebody aircraft in a deal worth US$52 billion, taking its total order book to 295 aircraft. Announced at the Dubai Airshow 2023 on Monday, Emirates which is already the world’s largest operator of Boeing 777 aircraft, has signed firm orders for 55 additional 777-9s and 35 777-8s. It takes the airline’s 777X order book to a total of 205 units. The carrier has also updated its previous order of 30 Boeing 787-9s, increasing its commitment to a total of 35 Dreamliners comprising 15 Boeing 787-10s and 20 Boeing 787-8s. Emirates has announced plans to launch a range of luggage and accessories made out of repurposed parts of the carrier’s A380 and 777 aircraft. The limited-edition range includes suitcases, backpacks, handbags, cardholders, toiletry bags, belts and shoes, with all proceeds going to the Emirates Airline Foundation. Materials used to make the products includes leather from couches in the Emirates A380 onboard lounge, to seatbelts, aluminium headrest and fur from the Captains seat. Dubai-based carrier Emirates has announced a codeshare with Batik Air Malaysia that would allow Emirates customers to access five domestic Malaysian cities and three regional South East Asia points operated by Batik Air via Kuala Lumpur International airport (KLIA). Emirates will place its code on Batik Air-operated flights to Penang, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Langkawi, Johor Bahru, Denpasar, Jakarta and Singapore.
