Rishi Sunak has rejected a characterisation of the Treasury under his chancellorship as a 'pro-death squad'. The expression was attributed to Boris Johnson in a diary entry by the chief scientific adviser, Sir Patrick Vallance, but Hugo Keith KC did not say the term was used by Johnson himself when he asked Sunak about it.
