EasyJet confirms order for 157 Airbus aircraft – Business Traveller
EasyJet has confirmed a firm order for 157 A320neo Family aircraft, following shareholder approval on Tuesday.
The carrier will receive 56 A320neo and 101 A321neo aircraft between FY29 and FY34, the plans for which we initially reported in October. EasyJet says that this ensures it has “a supply of future delivery slots… to retain its current scale through replacing aircraft leaving the fleet” and enables the carrier to “execute its growth strategy”.
An additional 100 purchase rights will also enable the airline the opportunity to further grow, depending on when they are delivered.
An existing 35 A320neo aircraft already on order will also be converted into larger A321neo aircraft. EasyJet says this decision will enable “continued growth opportunities in slot constrained airports”.
