IATA trials first “fully integrated digital identity travel experience” – Business Traveller

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) has partnered with British Airways to trial what it says was the “first integrated shopping to travel journey using digital identity”. Customers on a BA flight between London Heathrow and Rome Fiumicino were able to make use of technology including digital wallets, digital passports and biometric gates to travel through the airport. The “Proof of Concept” trial included travel requirements being checked through the digital passport before the passenger arrived at the airport, Ready-to-Fly confirmation and seat assignment messages being sent by BA to the traveller, and the use of biometric data to travel through security, into lounges and onto the aircraft. Kingston Digital Europe has launched a new portable solid state drive (SSD) aimed at travellers needing to take large files with them on trips or those looking for a pocket-sized backup. The XS1000 SSD is the size of a key fob and weighs just 29 grams, but can hold up to 2TB of documents and files (a 1TB version is also available). The drive offers read speeds of up to 1,050MB per second, and comes with a USB-C to USB-A cable, and backwards compatibility to devices using USB 3.2 Gen 1. ‘August’ Month for UPI as India Clocks Record 10 Billion-plus Transactions for Rs 15,000 Billion
