Teamsters Strike at DHL’s Cincinnati Air Cargo Hub

More than 1,100 union workers at DHL’s air cargo hub at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport walked off the job Thursday, a move that affects one of the parcel carrier’s largest logistics facilities during the busiest shipping season of the year.The International Brotherhood of Teamsters said its members are protesting unfair labor practices at the hub run by DHL Express, a U.S. unit of German logistics giant Deutsche Post that handles express parcel business. DHL Owner Deutsche Post Sees Earnings at Lower End of Guidance

DHL owner Deutsche Post narrowed its 2023 guidance toward the lower end of its previous outlook, after its expectations of an economic recovery didn’t materialize, and reported lower third-quarter revenue and earnings.The German logistics group, also known as DHL Group, said it now expects earnings before interest and taxes to be between 6.2 billion euros and 6.6 billion euros ($6.63 billion-$7.06 billion), against its previous target of EUR6.2 billion to EUR7.0 billion.Copyright ©2023 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. DHL easyJet workers suspend Gatwick strike action – Business Traveller

The Unite union has confirmed the suspension of strike action by nearly 600 DHL workers at Gatwick airport. Last week the union announced eight days of strike action by ASC, Menzies Aviation, GGS and DHL Services Ltd employees at the airport, in a dispute over pay. Members had been set to strike for four days from Friday 28 July to Tuesday 1 August, and then again from Friday 4 August to Tuesday 8 August. Gatwick set for eight days of strike action But the union said DHL staff – who are contracted to easyJet at Gatwick – will no longer walk out between 28 July and 1 August, following an improved pay offer.
