Qatar Airways adds fifth destination in Germany – Business Traveller

Oneworld member Qatar Airways has announced another round of network and capacity expansion. From July, the airline will launch flights from its Doha hub to Hamburg, Germany. Hamburg will be Qatar Airways’ fifth destination in Germany, following Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf. Moreover, from June, Qatar Airways will return to Venice. Venice is expected to see high demand from passengers from Japan, China and Australia, while Hamburg will serve as a gateway to South Africa, Thailand and the Philippines, the airline said. NEOM unveils Epicon destination project in Saudi Arabia – Business Traveller

NEOM in Saudi Arabia has announced Epicon, its latest luxury coastal tourism destination which includes a residential component too. Located on the Gulf of Aqaba, Epicon features two towers, one 225m tall and the other 275m. The towers will house an ultra-premium 41-key hotel and luxury residences that includes 14 suites and apartments. A short distance from the hotel is the Epicon resort, which will have 120 rooms and 45 residential beach villas. Epicon will also build a beach club, spa for bespoke wellness treatments, restaurants, gym, library, workspaces, pools and lounges. Air Japan names first destination – Business Traveller

All Nippon Airways’ (ANA’s) new medium-haul carrier, Air Japan, will begin operations on 9 February. The airline’s first route will link its Tokyo Narita base with Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport. Air Japan will operate under a low-cost model, similar to rival Japan Airlines’ Zipair brand. One-way fares departing from Narita will start at 15,500 yen (US$105), with customisable options for combining different services to meet customer needs. Flynas expands destination network from Jeddah – Business Traveller

Saudi low-cost carrier flynas has announced the launch of direct flights from Jeddah to Bishkek and Osh in Kyrgyzstan and Almaty in Kazakhstan. Starting August 20, flynas will commence flights from Osh, the second-largest city in Kyrgyzstan, to Jeddah. Subsequently, on September 2, it will launch flights from Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, to King Abdulaziz International airport in Jeddah. Both these routes will operate with three weekly direct flights, resulting in a total of six weekly flights between the two cities.
