Half of Travelodge’s room estate to have new design by end of 2024 – Business Traveller

Travelodge has published its financial results for 2023, reporting annual revenues of more than £1 billion for the first time. Revenue was up 13.7 per cent on the previous year, with EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) up 14.6 per cent to £243.9 million. The group opened four hotels in 2023, including the 393-room Dublin City Centre Travelodge Plus, which is now the second largest hotel in Dublin city centre, and the first to feature Travelodge’s “premium economy” SuperRooms concept. AirBaltic launches livery design contest for its 50th A220-300 aircraft – Business Traveller

AirBaltic has invited creatives across the world to help design the livery of its 50th A220-300 aircraft. The competition is open to anyone over the age of 18 from any country, including artists, designers, and creative talents – submissions from commercial entities or designs showcasing recognisable commercial brands will not be accepted. Entrants must download a blank image of the A220-300 livery and design the front, right and left side of the aircraft, but leave the engines and winglets as they are. Additionally, they must provide a description of “what the livery conveys, how it correlates with airBaltic, and why it’s the right fit for the 50th aircraft”. Courtyard by Marriott debuts new European design at renovated Berlin property – Business Traveller

The hotel’s fitness centre has also been upgraded, with new Technogym equipment, a weightlifting area, and a hydration station for guests to rest and refuel. Around 20 per cent of Travelodge hotels to feature budge-luxe design by year end – Business Traveller

Travelodge has published an update on the rollout of of its budget-luxe revamp, with a total of 55 properties set to benefit from the new design this year. Of these, 25 hotels have already been upgraded in time for the peak summer period, including properties in Cheltenham, Ipswich, Oxford, Newport and Southampton. The group’s two largest hotels have also been updated – the 463-room Travelodge London Covent Garden, and the 408-room Travelodge London Kings Cross Royal Scot. Travelodge unveiled the budget-luxe design in April 2022, with features including a new “timeless classic style” reception, as well as a contemporary Bar Cafe concept and redesigned rooms.
