Bronx driver fatally strikes man on scooter in suspected road rage attack

A Bronx driver fatally struck a man on a scooter with her car in a suspected road rage attack, police sources said Sunday. Victim Robert Jimenez, 23, was arguing with a 28-year-old woman driving a Honda Civic before she struck him on Fox St. near Intervale Ave. in Longwood about 2:20 p.m. Saturday, cops said. Both Jimenez and the Honda driver were headed south on Fox and cops are investigating if the driver was chasing Jimenez when she hit him, sources said. Investigators believe the two were strangers. Medics rushed Jimenez to Lincoln Hospital but he couldn’t be saved. He was about two miles from home when he was struck, according to cops. Police took the woman into custody. She remains hospitalized and has not yet been charged with a crime.

A speeding BMW driver who plowed into a 19-year-old girl and a bicyclist at a Brooklyn intersection, leaving the pedestrian clinging to life, was drunk and driving an unregistered vehicle, police said Tuesday. Crystal DeJesus, 20, has been charged with vehicular assault, speeding, reckless driving, and driving while drunk for the Sunday night crash in Bedford-Stuyvesant, cops said. DeJesus was zipping west on Halsey St. in Bedford-Stuyvesant when she struck the teen and the 32-year-old bicyclist near Tompkins Ave. just before midnight, cops said. The teen suffered a massive head injury in the crash. Medics rushed her to Kings County Hospital where she remained in critical condition Tuesday. Queens crash leaves one dead and three injured, including 1-year-old

A driver lost control of his car and plowed into a couple and their grandchildren outside their Queens home on Tuesday.A woman, 65, and two children, ages 5 and 1, were injured in the crash and a 67-year-old man was killed, according to police.The 39-year-old driver of a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was cruising east along 73rd Ave. when he lost control near 260th St. at 3:53 p.m., cops said.The Pathfinder appeared to slam head-on into a parked Honda SUV belonging to the two adult victims.
