Amsterdam Schiphol raising airport charges by nearly 15 per cent – Business Traveller

Amsterdam Schiphol has announced plans to raise its airport charges for 2024 by more than previously expected, “due to lost income in 2022”. Charges will increase by 14.8 per cent next year, rather than the previously expected 12 per cent. The airport said that the move was a result of lost revenue during the pandemic, with remaining travel restrictions at the start of 2022 leading to fewer flights. Heathrow forced to cut passenger charges again British Airways, Delta and Virgin Atlantic appealed against the decision, claiming that the charges had been based on “pessimistic annual passenger forecasts”, while conversely Heathrow Airport Ltd (HAL) also appealed, stating that the level of charges ...

Heathrow warns that the ULEZ charge “will be in addition to any other fees or charges associated with entering the airport” (for example the airport’s drop-off fee). It adds that the charge runs from midnight to midnight every day of the year (except for Christmas Day), meaning that “if you drive a non-compliant vehicle within the ULEZ area across two days, you will need to pay two daily charges”. This leaves drivers of non-compliant v...
