Atlanta tops world’s busiest airports in 2023 – Business Traveller

Airports Council International (ACI) World has published its preliminary ranking of the world’s busiest airport in 2023, with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International again topping the list. The airport welcomed more than 104 million passengers last year, significantly ahead of Dubai International which served just under 87 million. Dallas Fort Worth was third with around 82 million passengers, with London Heathrow in fourth place – as previously reported the London hub served 79.2 million passengers in 2023. Tokyo Haneda jumped from 16th place in 2022 to fifth last year, welcoming just under 79 million passengers. OAG reveals busiest airline routes in 2023 – Business Traveller

Aviation analytics firm OAG has published its report on the busiest airline routes for 2023, with Kuala Lumpur International-Singapore Changi topping the list of international routes. The route had a total of 4.9 million seats last year, pushing Cairo-Jeddah down to second spot with 4.8 million seats. Seven of the top ten busiest international routes involved Asia-Pacific destinations, with Hong Kong-Taipei taking third spot with 4.6 million seats (down around 43 per cent on 2019 levels). New York JFK-London Heathrow came in eighth position with 3.9 million seats. Dublin airport reports busiest ever day – Business Traveller

Dublin airport recorded its busiest every day last weekend, with a total of 120,585 passengers travelling through the hub on Sunday 30 July. The airport also reported passenger figures of over 3.4 million for the month of July, which it said was 13 per cent higher than the same period in 2022, and “on a par with July 2019”. The total includes 205,000 transfer and transit passengers.
