Marriott launches temporary boost to credit card sign-up bonus – Business Traveller

Marriott Bonvoy has temporarily doubled the bonus points offer for new holders of its UK Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card. New cardholders can normally earn 20,000 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points when spending £3,000 in the first three months, but this has been doubled to 40,000 for applications made by 14 November, 2023. Cardholders also benefit from 15 elite night credits (enough to get Silver Elite Status) as well as an upgrade to Gold Elite status when they spend £15,000 on the card in a year, and a free night award when spending £25,000 in an anniversary year. Note that the card comes with a £95 annual fee (this has recently increased from £75), and cardholders are not eligible for the bonus points offer if they have held a personal American Express Card in the past two years. Singapore Airlines to boost Manchester-Houston route – Business Traveller

Singapore Airlines has announced plans to increase its Manchester-Houston route next year. The fifth freedom service (which routes Singapore-Manchester-Houston) originally launched in 2016, before being suspended during the Covid-19 pandemic and then reinstated in late 2021. It currently operates three-times-weekly, but will increase to five flights per week from 31 March, 2024. Scotland-based travellers can take advantage of Loganair’s interline agreement with Singapore Airlines, with the regional carrier operating 21 weekly services between Aberdeen and Manchester, and single booking also available on routes from Inverness, Isle of Man and Newquay, through Manchester and onto Houston. LNER to boost Sunday services between Yorkshire and London – Business Traveller

LNER has announced plans to add more services and seats between Yorkshire and London on Sundays. The rail operator said that Sundays “are now one of the most popular days for journeys with 30 per cent more customers travelling across the 956-mile LNER network than in 2019”. To meet this demand LNER is adding three additional services to its timetable – two between Leeds and London King’s Cross and one between Doncaster and London.
