The Bahamian Island of Eleuthera Offers Beauty and the Sea, Crowd-Free

Twin Coves, on the Atlantic Ocean side of the narrow, finger-shaped Bahamian island of Eleuthera, is a gorgeous spot: Two crescent-shaped, pink-sand beaches free of crowds, with calm waters protected from heavy waves by offshore sandbars. But the real magic emerges when you walk into the crystal-clear sea.Just beneath the surface, a large outcropping of coral reef hosts an insane array of tropical fish — tens of thousands of them, darting back and forth, some going solo, others in giant schools swimming in unison, all wary but accepting of snorkeling newcomers.Floating over this aquatic wonder, with two daughters sloshing excitedly nearby, I was reminded again of the extraordinariness of Eleuthera — an island unknown to most travelers who head to the region, even though it is only 70 miles...

It’s Warm. It’s Bronze. It’s Everywhere. How ‘Latte Makeup’ Became Fall’s Hottest Beauty Trend

ANYONE WHO lived through the 1990s (or has watched Apple TV+’s docuseries “The Super Models”) no doubt remembers the decade’s taste for brown makeup. To emulate era-defining faces such as model Linda Evangelista and R&B star Brandy—both particularly partial to mocha-hue lips—women embraced earthy maquillage en masse. Weight Watchers Should Not Be Apologizing

As the son of one of the founders of Weight Watchers (WW), I am appalled and insulted by the comments current CEO Sima Sistani made in “The New WeightWatchers: Oprah, Ozempic and Apologies” (Exchange, Oct. 7). She is clearly out of touch with the company’s legacy. Full disclosure, my father was the “brains” behind WW, encouraging Jean Nidetch to be the face of the company. He orchestrated the sale of WW to the H.J. Heinz Co. in 1978. He was a board member for two decades until his passing in 1998. My mother wrote most of the WW cookbooks. The company had its origin in the basement of my parents’ Baldwin, N.Y., home.Copyright ©2023 Dow Jones & Company, Inc. All Rights Reserved. 87990cbe856818d5eddac44c7b1cdeb8
