New Jersey Demands That ‘God’s Square Mile’ Open on Sundays

Neptune Township, N.J.A religious nonprofit has owned Ocean Grove, a stretch of beach and adjacent property, for more than 150 years. During that time, it’s been the Methodist community’s policy to close the beach on Sunday. In the 1980s the group relaxed that policy, opening Ocean Grove’s beaches at noon on Sundays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. It’s the only patch of the roughly 130-mile Jersey Shore that’s off limits to bathers on summer Sunday mornings. Nikki Beach to open resort in Ras Al Khaimah – Business Traveller

RAK Properties has partnered with Nikki Beach Global to develop Nikki Beach Resort and Spa Ras Al Khaimah. The new branded resort with beach access will be located at Mina Al Arab in Ras al Khaimah. The resort will be operated and managed by Nikki Beach. The 155-hotel key resort will comprise of rooms and villas. Guests will have access to the brand’s signature Nikki Spa, Tone Gym, and restaurant concepts. Further details of the hotel development and opening date are yet to be announced. I live on Cape Cod, and I have recently noticed something of a current trend in which beachgoers claim valuable (and sometimes scarce) real estate by arriving several hours early to set up chairs, blankets and umbrellas before leaving to return (in some cases several hours later) to eventually move into their pre-claimed territory.I always thought that you had to be on hand to occupy some piece of public space. Does an empty chair or blanket constitute actual occupancy? Do such phantom claims have any merit? Would someone have the right to ignore such maneuvers by removing these chairs or blankets?
