As part of an unusual legal settlement, a group of 10 Wisconsin Republicans who tried to reverse the outcome of the 2020 presidential election by creating a false slate of electors pledged to Donald Trump have withdrawn the paperwork they sent to Congress and acknowledged that President Biden won the election.The civil settlement, announced Wednesday by legal advocacy groups representing the plaintiffs, marks a milestone in continuing litigation around the country against pro-Trump operatives, sometimes referred to as fake electors, in battleground states including Wisconsin, Georgia and Michigan. This also means investors are betting the farm on just a handful of bullets hitting their targets.The S&P 500 is in a bull market, fueled by soft inflation data in the U.S. and Europe and the widespread belief that interest rates will start coming down early next year. Yet the stock market has become so top-heavy that speaking of a “bull market” carries less meaning than before.
