Radisson Collection adds second Rome property – Business Traveller

Hyatt adds first Barcelona property under Grand Hyatt brand – Business Traveller

Hyatt has added the second Spanish property and just the fifth in Europe under its Grand Hyatt brand. Grand Hyatt Barcelona is located on Plaça de Piu XII on the city’s famous Avenida Diagonal, and features 465 rooms including 49 suites. If this sounds familiar it’s because the existing property was previously trading under Hyatt’s Unbound Collection. The hotel originally opened in 1975 as Hotel Princesa Sofia, before becoming an InterContinental property in the 1990s. Qatar Airways adds fifth destination in Germany – Business Traveller

Oneworld member Qatar Airways has announced another round of network and capacity expansion. From July, the airline will launch flights from its Doha hub to Hamburg, Germany. Hamburg will be Qatar Airways’ fifth destination in Germany, following Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin and Dusseldorf. Moreover, from June, Qatar Airways will return to Venice. Venice is expected to see high demand from passengers from Japan, China and Australia, while Hamburg will serve as a gateway to South Africa, Thailand and the Philippines, the airline said. Venice will be served daily from 12 June, with flights departing Doha at 0900 and arriving 1420 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Delta adds Taiwan back to its network – Business Traveller

SkyTeam member Delta Air Lines will further expand its Asia network next summer with the launch of daily nonstop service from Seattle (SEA) to Taiwan Taoyuan International airport (TPE) starting 6 June, subject to government approval. This marks Delta’s inaugural nonstop flight to Taipei from the US and the first Delta aircraft operation to TPE since 2017 via Narita International airport in Japan. Emirates adds chauffeur drive service at Jakarta airport – Business Traveller

Emirates has further extended its premium chauffeur drive service to include arrivals and departures at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International airport. First and business class customers now benefit from a complimentary chauffeur drive for both departures and arrivals within an 80km radius of the airport. Bookings must be made at least 12 hours before scheduled flight times, and eligible passengers wishing to book longer journeys can pay a fee for additional mileage. Customers arriving into the airport will be greeted at gate 1 and assisted in transferring to Zone 2 for their chauffeur drive pick-up, and similarly those departing the airport will be dropped off at gate 2, enabling them to proceed to the carrier’s check-in counters at C Island. IHG adds 350-keys to its Punjab portfolio with a dual hotel signing

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with NK Sharma Hospitality Pvt Ltd to develop two new hotels in the Chandigarh tri-city area – Crowne Plaza Chandigarh Zirakpur in the premium segment and Holiday Inn & Suites Chandigarh Zirakpur from the essentials collection. Currently under construction, both hotels are scheduled to open in January 2027. Complementing Holiday Inn Chandigarh Panchkula and Holiday Inn Chandigarh Zirakpur, the dual signing will strengthen IHG’s offerings in Punjab and add over 350 keys to the company’s portfolio in the state. Etihad adds third daily A380 service on London route – Business Traveller

Etihad Airways has further increased capacity on its London route, by adding a third daily A380 service. Effective 1 November, three of the carrier’s four daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Heathrow are now being operated by the superjumbo. It means that Etihad is now offering a total of 1,726 seats per day on the key London route. Flights EY17 (departing Abu Dhabi at 1405) and EY18 (departing Heathrow at 2055) join existing A380 services EY11/12 and EY19/20. Flydubai adds Cairo and Poznan to network – Business Traveller

Dubai-based carrier flydubai inaugurated operations to Cairo’s Sphinx International airport (SPX) and Poznan airport (POZ) on 29 October. The airline now operates to two destinations in Egypt – Alexandria and Cairo – and to three in in Poland including Krakow, Poznan and Warsaw. Air India will introduce a nonstop service between Kolkata and Bangkok starting 23 October. AI322 will depart Kolkata at 2200 to reach Bangkok at 0205 the next morning. The return flight AI321 will take off from Bangkok at 0305 to land in Kolkata at 0410. The route, operated by narrowbody Airbus aircraft, will offer business class and economy class service. Virgin Atlantic adds third weekly service to Grenada this winter – Business Traveller

Virgin Atlantic is to expand its Grenada route this winter, with a third weekly service operating between 8 December, 2023 and 29 March, 2024. A Friday service will join the carrier’s existing Tuesday and Sunday flights from Heathrow, with all three frequencies routing via Barbados. Earlier this year Virgin added fifth freedom services between Barbados and Grenada, allowing customers to fly between the islands.
