Korean Air to add premium economy class – Business Traveller

South Korean flag carrier Korean Air will introduce a premium economy class product as it takes delivery of new Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the airline’s chief executive, Walter Cho, told media this week. The SkyTeam carrier already has 11 Boeing 787-9 long-haul aircraft in its current fleet, but is due to take delivery of nine more, plus 20 higher-capacity 787-10 Dreamliners over the coming years. In their current configuration, the Korean Air 787-9 Dreamliner seats 269 passengers – 24 in 1-2-1 business class and 245 in 3-3-3 economy class. Hilton to add hotel next to Gare de Lille-Europe – Business Traveller

Hilton is set to add its first property in the northern French city of Lille next year. The former Crowne Plaza Lille Euralille is available to book via hilton.com from 1 November – initially operating as the independent Hotel Lille EuraLille before becoming the Hilton Lille in summer 2024 following renovations. The 124-room hotel is located next to Gare de Lille-Europe, with its Eurostar and TGV connections. Features will include Europa restaurant and COOPER bar, as well as a new executive lounge, and 360 sqm of meeting and events space. Mainland Chinese carriers add Europe, Sydney flights – Business Traveller

In their most recent schedule update, several Mainland Chinese carriers have flagged new services from Chongqing and Wenzhou to Paris, Madrid and Sydney. More specifically, SkyTeam member China Eastern Airlines will launch a twice-weekly Wenzhou-Madrid service commencing 22 November. The route will be operated by the airline’s latest new-technology long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900. China Eastern’s A350-900s seat 40 passengers in business class across a 1-2-1 configuration, while premium economy is in a 2-4-2 setup, and regular economy is in a 3-3-3 layout. EasyJet and Jet2 add twilight bag drop at Glasgow airport – Business Traveller

Glasgow airport has introduced a new Twilight Bag Drop service, available to easyJet and Jet2 customers. The airport says that passengers flying from the airport before 0830 can now check in their luggage between 1630 and 2100 the day before, allowing them to head straight for security on the morning of their flight. Note that a separate press release from easyJet says that the Glasgow twilight service opens at 1600. To avail of the service customers must complete check-in and have their boarding pass and passports with them. The lead booker must also be present when the luggage is being checked in.
