Newcastle airport has announced plans to upgrade its Aspire lounge over the next six months.
The £1.7 million project will see the facility refurbished and expanded, with space for an additional 100 passengers.
Aspire said that the lounge would become its flagship facility in the UK, with a three-tier system being introduced within one lounge for the first time.
All guests will benefit from food and beverage options, as well as “convenient charging facilities, high speed internet, digital newspapers and the latest magazines, plus HD television and flight screens”.
There will also be an Aspire Business offering, with “exclusive self-service food and beverage options and bespoke private and open working spaces targeted to the business traveller”, as well an Aspire Premium concept, offering “a luxury fully hosted table service product akin to a high-end restaurant with freshly prepared meals and dedicated staff”.
The lounge is being upgraded in collaboration with DV8 Designs, which was also recently responsible for the upgraded Aspire Lounge at Belfast City airport.
