New express bus service launches between Dublin airport and Belfast – Business Traveller

Travellers looking to get between Dublin airport and Belfast now have a new option, with the launch of the Dublin Express bus route.

The new service is offering 16 trips per day in either direction, with the first departure from Dublin City and Dublin airport at 0520 and 0600 respectively, and the last services departing at 0010 and 0100.

There are stops at Burgh Quay, Westland Row and Custom House Quay in Dublin, as well as a stop outside Dublin airport Terminal 1, and one on Glengall Street in Belfast.

Belfastlive.co.uk reports that the new service claims to be “the fastest coach transfer from Belfast to Dublin with its quickest journey estimated to take one hour and 50 minutes”.

Dublin Express estimates that the new service will save “in the region of 25,000 car journeys during July and August alone”.

Other public transport options to and from the airport can be seen here.

Commenting on the news Dublin Express’ general manager Rory Fitzgerald said:

“The reaction to the Belfast route from Dublin City is amazing with huge demand from our two prime stops at Westland Row and Custom House Quay.

“We are bringing a new standard of luxury travel for people travelling to Belfast with pick up options southside of the city centre for the first time ever.

“When we announced the new service we were blown away by the response selling 14,000 tickets in just under five hours and sales have been going really well since.

“We estimate that in the first few weeks of operating we’ll be replacing over 25,000 car journeys between the two big cities on the island as a result of people booking to travel on our new service.”
